The SUCP Program, developed by Edvance USA in partnership with California community colleges, provides an efficient 1+1+2 university transfer pathway designed for international students.
A 1+1+2 pathway to U.S. universities
SUCP is designed for international students seeking a structured route into U.S. higher education. Students begin with one year of planned U.S. college-level coursework in China, continue with one year at a California community college, and then progress toward transfer to a four-year U.S. university.
Throughout the pathway, students receive bilingual academic support, course and credit planning, major preparation, and transfer advising aligned with their intended university destinations.
Academic planning may include Cal-GETC requirements, major preparation, and UC Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) planning where applicable. Students who meet the requirements of an eligible UC campus and major may pursue TAG, while others may prepare for transfer to additional University of California campuses and other U.S. universities based on each institution’s published requirements.

Questions families ask first
Does Edvance guarantee transfer to a UC campus?
No. Students who meet all applicable TAG requirements may be eligible for guaranteed admission to participating UC campuses under the University of California's TAG program. Eligibility and admission decisions are made by the universities, not by Edvance.
What are TAG and Cal-GETC?
The Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) is a program through which eligible California community college students may receive guaranteed admission to participating UC campuses. IGETC (now Cal-GETC) is the general education pattern that helps students complete broad lower-division requirements. Both are frameworks of the State of California and the University of California — not Edvance programs.
How are Year 1 courses and credits recorded?
Coursework is delivered by the participating California community colleges, which record the courses and credits on their own transcripts. Edvance provides academic support, advising, and pathway planning around that coursework.
Are standardized tests or English proficiency tests required?
Yes — requirements apply, and they vary by receiving institution, major, and each student's academic record. Please contact Edvance for guidance on what applies to your intended pathway. Depending on the transfer destination and eligibility requirements, some students may benefit from waived standardized testing requirements, including SAT/ACT and English proficiency examinations; waivers are granted by the receiving institutions under their own policies and can change.
What English level is needed to start?
Placement is based on an academic review, prior transcripts, and English assessment results.
Transfer admission, TAG eligibility, English proficiency waivers, course articulation, and university admission depend on the requirements and policies of the relevant colleges and universities. Edvance USA does not guarantee admission or credit acceptance.
